The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania through the Ministry of Health and the President’s Office of Regional Administration and Local Government (OR-TAMISEMI) is implementing the Integrated Community Health Workers Program in the country. Through this program, the government has established a system for recruiting qualified Community Health Workers, providing training, and deploying them to implement integrated health, nutrition, and community well-being interventions. The program requires two (2) Community Health Workers, a man and a woman, for each village/street.

Qualifications of Applicants:

a) Must have a valid ID such as a National ID (NIDA), Passport, Driver’s License, or Voter’s ID;

b) Must have completed Secondary Education (at least Form Four) and have a Leaving Certificate;

c) Must be a resident and currently living in the relevant Village/Hamlet and Street

d) Must be familiar with the language, culture, customs, and traditions of the relevant community;

e) Must be morally and culturally acceptable to the relevant community.

f) Must not have a history of criminal activity, including sexual abuse and violence against children;

g) Must be dedicated, hardworking, and have a passion for serving the community;

h) Must be honest and have the ability to keep client information confidential;

i) Must be willing and able to work in the relevant Village or Street; and

j) Must be between the ages of 18 and 55.

Applications should be submitted to the Ward Executive Officer’s Office, accompanied by the following:

• a) A handwritten application letter signed by the applicant
• b) A copy of the Form IV Leaving Certificate
• c) Two (2) passport-size photos
• d) A curriculum vitae (CV) showing the applicant’s age, full address, and mobile phone number, as well as the address/mobile phone number of at least two (2) referees.
• e) A letter of confirmation from the Village/Street Executive Officer of the applicant’s home area.

The deadline for submitting applications is two (2) weeks from the date of this announcement. Further instructions are available from the respective Ward Executive Officer’s Offices.
