Job Position Manager Credit Monitoring & Recovery at I&M Bank (T) Limited

In charge of Management of all Non Performing Accounts and support of Relationship Managers for the collections of the account post 90 days overdue. The incumbent is responsible for the following key functions:

  • Manage delinquency/NPAs within acceptable level
  • Responsible and accountable for collections and recoveries for the Bank
  • Support the RMs in aspects of Controls and monitoring to ensure credit loss minimization and collections/recoveries maximization.
  • Highlights and analyses credit failures to identify ways of improving the credit approval process

Key Responsibilities/Tasks

Recoveries:

  • Manage the day to day operations of collections and recoveries activities by the effective implementations of set up strategies for recoveries
  • Support the Relationship Managers in collections of all accounts which are over 30 days past due to minimize the accounts flowing to the higher buckets
  • Work closely with Monitoring team in Credit Administration to follow up recoveries of accounts which have been provided to ensure the NPA portfolio is reduced
  • To be a central point of reference of all information related to customers in the NPA portfolio.
  • Provide monthly report on progress of each customer in the portfolio managed and the same to be used for the update in provisioning process
  • Work closely with legal team to initiate legal recovery actions with legal firms and collections agencies
  • Work with legal team to manage legal firms throughout the litigation process to ensure appropriate service is provided to the bank and that recoveries are optimized with minimal legal costs.
  • Manage the relationship with repossession and debt collections/recoveries companies/agencies.
  • Review and assess all newly identified delinquent loan accounts and introduce recovery action aiming at minimizing losses by error reduction
  • To assist Head of Credit to ensure that department’s third party service level standards/agreements are met and adhered to
  • Effective management of collections/recoveries operations to meet/optimize the net credit loss as well as contribute positively to the P& L performance of the Bank
  • Any other duty as may be assigned by the line manager/management.

Risk Management:

  • Develop, update and maintain risk procedures and systems with respect to risk identification, risk assessment, risk monitoring, risk mitigation strategies and risk reporting
  • Ensure effective adoption and utilization of risk management tools
  • Drive remediation of risk management exceptions identified during audit or risk reviews
  • Promote risk management culture

Academic / Professional Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Banking, Finance or related field
  • A minimum of 3 years working experience at Senior Officer level in Recoveries/Legal function
