Appeal Your ‘UIF Registered’ Status On srd.sassa.gov.za: The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) has called on Covid-19 R350 Social Relief Of Distress grant applicants to appeal their ‘uif_registered’ rejection status on the SASSA website https://srd.sassa.gov.za
A number of SRD R350 grant applications have been rejected with the status ‘uif_registerd’. If you are registered on the UIF system this will automatically make you ineligible for the SASSA SRD grant. This is because SASSA’s system determines that you are benefiting or eligible to benefit from UIF support.
This has caused challenges for people who do not receive benefits from the UIF but are wrongly being told that they are registered on the UIF database. This had led to people visiting labour department centres around the country to appeal their grant status.
The UIF explained that SASSA is responsible for the distribution of the SRD grants. Therefore, the appeals should be logged with SASSA.
SASSA received more than 14 million SRD grant applications and approved under 9 million applications.
