It gives social and financial help to the elderly and people in need, like disabled people and students who deserve it. All the people who should get SASSA grants are eagerly waiting for the payment dates in 2023.
The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has released the payment dates for its social grants. These payment dates do not include the Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant.
SRD grant payments do not have fixed payment dates, which means that beneficiaries will need to wait to receive communication that their payment is ready before visiting paypoints, such as retail stores or ATMs, before collecting their grant.

- Older Persons/ Pensioners Grant: Friday, 2 June 2023
- Disability Grant: Monday, 5 June 2023
- All other Grants: Tuesday, 6 June 2023
After people who get Sassa grants do not have to pick up their grants on the day they are due. The grant money will stay in the account of the person who got it until that person decides to use it.
Different ways of paying can be used to get grants. You can get grants at ATMs or stores like Shoprite, Checkers, U-save, Pick ‘n Pay, and Boxer.
Beneficiaries can receive the money through a bank account, your SASSA card, CashSend, or the Post Office.

It’s important to remember that SASSA grants are usually paid once a month, between the 1st and the 16th of each month. If you get an SASSA grant, you should check with SASSA to find out when you will be paid and if there have been any updates or changes to the payment schedule.
