Duties

 

The information Technology Chief works under the supervision of the Deputy Country Director and is responsible for Information Technology (IT) services management and support oversight. Job holder leads the development and implementation of IT related activities, projects and has direct responsibility for day-to-day coordination of Information Technology (IT) services management and support oversight at the CDC-Tanzania Offices.  In this capacity, the incumbent provides advice and guidance on IT management and support services, and develop plans for the maintenance and replacement of IT software and equipment as technology advances.  He is responsible for the integrity and security of all IT equipment, software and data systems.  This position provides instructional training to all CDC-Tanzania staff on the proper use and security of IT equipment, and advanced instruction on office productivity software.  The incumbent monitors IT resources usage to ensure compliance with U.S. Government IT policies, reviews server system performance for management implications, ensures effective support services by contractors and assist in the formulation of IT operating budgets.  Incumbent will serve as the liaison between CDC-Tanzania and counterparts at the CDC HQ IT Services Office. Job holder reports to the Deputy Country Director, CDC-Tanzania.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: The incumbent must possess at least 6 years progressively responsible work in computer Information systems of which at least three years experience in Microsoft Windows Servers and workstations management and administration of Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN), and an additional two years of supervisory experience is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Incumbent must have advanced specialist knowledge in IT administration and software including MS Windows Server management, MS Exchange, and MS Windows network configuration, network security skills, Microsoft Office productivity software, and current MS Windows operating systems is required.  Must have advanced knowledge of hardware management including servers, personal computers, and peripherals such as wireless network devices, printers and audio visual devices is required.

Education Requirements:
A Masters Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Information Systems or Management Information System or Business Administration with a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems is required. At least one of the certificates ITIL Foundation or CCNA is required.

LANGUAGE:

Fluent (speaking/reading/writing) in English is required.

Fluent (speaking/reading/writing) in Kiswahili is required.
