The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology is pleased to announce a scholarship opportunity for Special Education Teacher Training at the Diploma level. Applications are invited from students pursuing Diploma in Special Education in the following areas: Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, Deafness, Deaf blindness, and Visual Impairments.
ELIGIBILITY This scholarship will be awarded to students who meet the following criteria:
- Must be a Tanzanian citizen;
- Must be enrolled in a government-recognized Teacher Training College offering a Diploma in Special Education

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
- A cover letter indicating the course of study, phone number, and email address;
- Certified copies of academic certificates, attested by a lawyer;
- Certified birth certificate, attested by a lawyer; and
- A letter from the College Principal confirming enrollment.
SCOPE OF FUNDING The scholarship will cover the following areas:
- Tuition fees;
- Other college contributions (e.g., security, maintenance, etc.);
- Teaching and learning materials;
- Transportation; and
- Medical insurance.
SCHOLARSHIP CONDITIONS A student awarded a scholarship to study Special Education will be required to adhere to the following conditions:
- The student must read, understand, and sign a Scholarship Agreement between themselves and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology;
- The student must have a bank account for direct deposit of funds;
- The beneficiary will not be allowed to change their program of study without the approval of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology;
- The beneficiary will not be allowed to defer studies, except for medical reasons, and must be certified by a doctor from a government-recognized health facility or hospital;
- If the beneficiary cancels the scholarship opportunity, they must notify the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in writing through the Principal of the college they are enrolled in.
DURATION OF SCHOLARSHIP This scholarship is for a period of two (2) years for students who meet the criteria specified in Section 5.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE Applications should be submitted to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology within 15 days from September 1, 2025, to September 15, 2025. Applications should be sent to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, P.O. Box 10, Dodoma. The list of successful scholarship recipients will be posted on the Ministry’s website (www.moe.go.tz).
