Regional Masters Programme in Integrated Water Resources Management, 2022/23 Intake
ANNOUNCEMENT OF SCHOLARSHIPS FOR MASTERS BY COURSEWORK & DISSERTATION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF DAR ES SALAAM
1.0 Introduction
WaterNet, the SADC’s subsidiary institution for capacity building in Water Resources Management with support from the Kingdom of the Netherlands will offer a partial scholarship to a limited number of successful applicants for the Regional Masters Programme in Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) for the 2022/23 intake at the University of Dar es Salaam. The Master of IWRM programme is scheduled to start in March 2022. The deadline for scholarship applications is 20th March 2022. Suitable applicants from the Southern African region as well as from Kenya and Uganda are encouraged to apply.
2.0 Scope of Scholarship
There will be limited partial scholarships covering tuition fees only; as a result candidates who can secure financial assistance from other sources and those who can partially sponsor themselves will be given first preference. The scholarship is over a period of one and a half (1.5) years of the Master’s study.
3.0 Application & Entry Requirements
Applicants should have at least a good first degree at the Bachelor’s level (BA/BSc of Minimum GPA 2.7). The candidate should be able to show the orientation of his/her field of study to water-related issues. The language of instruction is English. Below are the preferred entry requirements for the Hydrology specialization:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hydrology or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Water Resources or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Irrigation or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography,
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent Bachelor’s degree in Earth Science or equivalent
4.0 Mode of Application
Please send your application letter with the necessary information, including:
- Copies of degree transcripts and certificates
- Statement of Motivation (Maximum 500 words). In this statement indicate why you want to participate in the programme
- A short CV (maximum 2 pages)
- A Letter of Reference
- A proof of admission application/acceptance to the relevant program at UDSM (i.e., Master of Integrated Water Resources Management by Coursework & Dissertation). Applicants should apply for admission into the Master of IWRM programme online at https://www.udsm.ac.tz or https://udsm.admission.ac.tz.
Please make sure you have provided all the documentation required. Applications for the scholarship will only be considered upon submission of the above requisites. Incomplete applications will NOT be processed.
Candidates are to submit their application package through email (wrep@udsm.ac.tz with a copy to: augustina.alexander@gmail.com) before 20th March 2022.
*In the email, the subject should have the words: Application: Masters Scholarship plus the start year of the programme and the surname of the applicant.
