VisionFund Tanzania Microfinance Bank Ltd (VFT MFB) formerly known as SEDA is a fast growing and reputable Micro Finance Bank (MFB), that has a loan book of approximately TZS. 20 billion and more than 30,000 client base, more than5,000 of whom are small holder farmers. VFT-MFB is seeking to employ a dynamic and committed Tanzanian young man or woman who has a passion for people’s economic development to fill in the vacant positions detailed here below;

Job Tittle: Customer Service Officer

Reporting to: Regional Operations Officer and Administratively reporting to Business Centre Manager  

Responsibility:

  • Provides support to Business Centre(Branch) in day to day activities related to data entry in VFT MFB system,
  • Provide satisfactory customer service.

Main tasks

  • Ensure approval documents are in place for manual data entry,
  • Supervise, Effects & Confirm Mobile change & ATM requests and registration at the Business Center
  • Register the bank pay in slips and issue receipts to the respective clients
  • Initiate payments, and submit to Finance
  • Prepares all journals
  • Acts as a member of the branch credit committee and branch delinquency committee.
  • Searches customers in Credit info to confirm if they are eligible to take loan.
  • Sends disbursement documents to Regional Operations Officer,
  • Leads the disbursement process, physically confirms clients during disbursement and reports any missing or problematic clients to central processing personnel
  • Payments and Petty cash management
  • Customer Service/Directs customers to respective officer or right channel
  • Savings Mobilizations/Ensure KYC of saving accounts are approved by BCM

Education/Experience

  • Degree Holder in Accounting/ Business Administration for CSO-I
  • Diploma/certificate holder for CSO-II
  • Must have a clear understanding of data entry and technology
  • Very good knowledge and comfort dealing with financial information
  • Very good analytical & reporting skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft office application
  • Be a good leader
  • Very good communication and marketing skills (both written and verbal)
  • Model and demonstrate effective Christian leadership and able to lead daily devotions.

Job tittle: Risk and Compliance Officer (Credit Risk)

Reporting to: Head of Risk and Compliance

Responsibility:

The Risk and Compliance Officer (Credit Risk) main responsibilities are to review and ensure that the credit risk is minimized and the bank is able to recover from any losses that might occur. Additional duties involve performing credit risk analysis and conducting independent loans review to ensure loans are adequately underwritten, properly graded, appropriately priced, and conform to the bank’s policy. The reviews and analysis performed will help the bank manage the risk in the loan portfolio by ensuring compliance with Bank and regulatory requirements, as well as following up on trends identified so appropriate controls can be developed and implemented at VFT MFB.

Main tasks

  1. Monitor the bank’s credit risk and trigger timely portfolio reviews to find out the root cause of the emerging credit risks and Communicate weaknesses identified to the credit underwritings
  2. Ongoing monitoring of the credit quality of the portfolio (portfolio review and early detection of deteriorating credits) by highlighting early warning signs of credit deterioration and advising the turnaround strategy.
  3. Perform a comprehensive review of sampled new loans and modifications to identify any credit weaknesses, policy or regulatory violations, servicing deficiencies, or trends.
  4. Prepare early warning and checks for adequacy and appropriateness of the information used in the evaluation of the customer Credit applications.
  5. Identify, analyze and report to the management the credit risk trend with corrective actions required
  6. Ensure that sound credit risk measurement and monitoring tools are developed and implemented in a standardized manner
  7. Preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly credit risk analysis reports by different categories such as loan size, client sector, product, Branch, and Loan Officer and trigger portfolio reviews.

Education/Experience

  1. A bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance, Accounting, Microfinance, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or any related field.
  2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in credit review, credit analysis, or in a business lending-related position.
  3. A Certification in Risk Management Experience
  4. Excellent understanding of credit risk management systems
  5. Excellent financial analysis skills especially financial ratio analysis to determine credit worthiness.
  6. An understanding of the functions of and the implementation of Credit Bureau strategies.
  7. Knowledge of current banking laws and regulations required loan documentation and bank lending policies

Job tittle: Recovery Manager

Reporting to: Chief Operations Officer (COO)

Responsibility:

  • To ensure an efficient performance of the Recovery Unit
  • Direct supervision of the recovery officers
  • To exchange information with the Recovery Officers, Regional Managers, Business Center Managers and other stakeholders in the recovery activities chain
  • To take part on the recruitment of Recovery Interns and Debt Collectors
  • To develop Recovery Plans in consultation with Chief Operations Officer
  • To prepare reports to be submitted to the Chief Operations Officers and other Heads of department as the need may arise

Main tasks

  • Ensures efficient performance the Recovery Unit
  • Coordination of the Recovery Unit work with other units/departments or agents
  • Coordinates Recovery Unit personnel plan
  • Reporting/Information flow

Education:

List education, knowledge & skills, licenses preferred, and all experiences required to perform this position in a fully competent manner.

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance and Economics
  • A good background legal studies (business law) and practice are added advantage
  • Very good knowledge of oral & written English and kiswahili
  • Very good analytical & reporting skills
  • 5 years’ experience in credit management and loan recovery experience
  • Experience of at least 5 years in working direct with Saving Groups, 2 of which must be at the Managerial/Supervisory position.
  • Good knowledge of WV &VFI Partnership
  • Proficient in Microsoft office application
  • Excellent trainer, facilitator, mentor and coach
  • Capacity & willingness to take responsibility and develop sense of rectitude
  • Familiar with Core business
