Job vacancies at NEC Zanzibar Tanzania August 2024

The Independent Electoral Commission of Tanzania is seeking qualified individuals to fill various positions in the upcoming voter registration exercise in Zanzibar, Tanzania. This exercise is in preparation for the 2025 General Election.

The following are the positions available

Registration Coordinator (One position for Unguja and one for Pemba)

• Responsibilities. Coordinate registration information, ensure availability of necessary materials, serve as a liaison between the Commission, district/constituency registration officers, and stakeholders, and collaborate with registration officers in the area.
• Qualifications. Tanzanian citizen, government employee, university degree or advanced diploma in any field, high integrity, resident of the respective area (Pemba or Unguja), self-motivated and able to work independently, experience in voter registration or elections.

Registration Officer (One position per district)

• Responsibilities: Coordinate and oversee registration activities in the district, supervise registration staff, maintain registration materials, manage registration funds, collaborate with the Registration Coordinator, and report on the progress of registration as directed by the National Electoral Commission.
• Qualifications: Tanzanian citizen, government employee, university degree or advanced diploma in any field, high integrity, self-motivated and able to work independently, experience in voter registration or elections.

Assistant Registration Officer (Three positions per constituency)

• Responsibilities. Serve as a liaison between the constituency and the district, oversee all registration activities in the constituency, and assist the Registration Officer in all registration matters.
• Qualifications. Tanzanian citizen, government employee, university degree or advanced diploma in any field, self-motivated and able to work independently, experience in voter registration or elections, high integrity.
