1. JOB TITLE: Plumbing Technician
Reports to: Technical Manager
Position Type:Staff Position
Job Location: Arusha, Tanzania
Objective of the Role: To participate in problem identification, repair, and maintenance within the plumbing technical area, including assisting in troubleshooting, rectifying faults, and supporting senior staff. This involves performing preventive maintenance, ensuring proper inventory management of tools and spare parts, adhering to safety protocols, and fulfilling other assigned tasks as required by management.
Main activities:
- Engage in activities aimed at identifying problems within a specific technical domain.
- Aid in repairing and maintaining items within the designated technical area.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Assist in addressing identified technical faults and promptly report them.
- Support senior staff members in relevant operational fields.
- Aid in identifying appropriate spare parts, tools, and equipment required for assigned tasks.
- Ensure proper maintenance of the working environment and tools used in maintenance tasks.
- Undertake any additional tasks delegated by the management team.
Specific Tasks:
- Engage in activities to identify problems within a specific technical domain and ensure thorough follow-up on the identified issues.
- Aid in the repair and maintenance of equipment within the designated technical area by assembling, installing, and maintaining pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems in adherence to specifications and plumbing codes.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment by completing and reviewing maintenance checklist forms according to the prescribed schedule.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues by installing and repairing pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, such as sinks, toilets, and water heaters.
- Assist in rectifying identified technical faults and promptly report them as necessary.
- Support senior staff members in operational tasks as needed, including responding to emergency calls.
- Assist in identifying appropriate spare parts, tools, and equipment required for tasks and maintain an inventory of owned materials.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of the work environment and tools used for maintenance tasks by inspecting completed jobs and ensuring areas are left clean.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A Relevant Technical Diploma / Certificate from an accredited
College/University.
- Relevant experience of not less than 4 years.
- Experience in a farm or the agricultaral sector is an added advantage
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have proficient skills in both English and Swahili languages.

2. JOB TITLE: Electrician
Reports to: Supervisor Red/Green
Position Type:Staff Position
Job Location: Arusha, Tanzania
Objective of the Role: Responsible for all electrical equipment in the farm. Main activities:
- Installation and maintenance of electrical systems for all greenhouse
facilities.
- Calibration and installation of measuring boxes for greenhouse climate computers.
- Maintenance and repair of generators.
- Management of electrical systems for cold rooms and climate cells.
- Installation and maintenance of electrical components for boreholes.
- Servicing and repair of spray machines.
- Inspection and upkeep of boilers, including maintenance and steaming operations.
- Maintenance and repair of seed dryers.
- Installation and upkeep of security lights and fencing systems.
- General maintenance and repair tasks related to electrical systems.
- Completion of any additional assignments delegated by the management team.
Specific Tasks:
- Maintain the electrical systems for all greenhouses by regularly inspecting misting, pad and fan cooling, growing lights, screens, auger systems, irrigation pumps, etc., according to protocol to ensure proper functionality.
- Conduct routine checks on measuring boxes for the greenhouse climate computer to ensure they are operating correctly, following established protocols.
- Monitor both fixed and mobile generators, checking oil and fuel levels according to protocol, and keeping records of hours and fuel usage. Notify in advance when servicing is needed.
- Monitor the temperature of cold rooms and climate cells regularly according to protocol, and report in advance when servicing is necessary.
- Perform regular checks on boreholes’ electrical systems in accordance with protocol.
- Check spray machines regularly for oil levels and consult with the spray supervisor regarding machine status and any required maintenance. Notify in advance when servicing is needed.
- Maintain boilers by monitoring oil and fuel levels, recording hours and fuel usage, and reporting in advance when servicing is necessary. Oversee all technical activities related to steaming.
- Regularly inspect various seed dryers to ensure proper operation, following protocol.
- Conduct regular checks on the operation of security lights and electric fences according to protocol.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Technical Manager to establish maintenance and daily schedules, prioritizing repair tasks accordingly.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A Relevant Technical Diploma / Certificate holder from accredited
College/University
- Relevant experience of not less than 4 years.
- Experience in a farm or the agricultaral sector is an added advantage
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
