The Tanzania Maji na Usafi wa Mazingira (MUM) Activity funded by USAID/Tanzania and implemented by Tetra Tech International Development (http://www.tetratech.com/intdev) is currently accepting expressions of interest for qualified candidates to fill various positions. The purpose of Maji na Usafi wa Mazingira (MUM) Activity is to expand and sustain the provision and governance of WASH services by increasing access to sustainable water services; Increasing access to finance for water, sanitation, and hygiene; Strengthening the market for sanitation products and services; and Strengthening basin water boards and water use associations for stewardship of water resources.

Tetra Tech seeks experienced candidates for the following positions:

Grants Specialist (1 Post)- Based in Iringa

Under the overall supervision of the Grants Manager, the Grants Specialist will be responsible for administrative duties and services in the project office for assisting with all aspects of implementing and managing the grants program. He/ She will Assist in the development and issuance of solicitations, Monitor the collection of grantee applications, Support the Grants Manager in the Review and Evaluation Committee process by taking notes and alerting applicants of the status of their application. Conducting pre-award risk assessments with the Grants Manager and Technical Team. Reviewing various accounting transactions, e. g., grantees’ payroll, financial reports, quotations, etc., to ensure correctness of disbursements and adherence to relevant staff rules, financial regulations and rules, administrative instructions and practices.

Qualification:

Education:

  • University degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or other relevant discipline.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in accounting or equivalent position. Experience working in a similar position for an international organization is preferred. Previous experience managing or implementing grants under contract, especially on budget/finance aspect, for donor-financed projects strongly is preferred. Knowledge of USAID grant making regulations and processes, and Conducting pre-award risk assessments with the Grants
