Chevening UK Government Scholarships Programme 2025

Chevening UK Government Scholarships Programme 2025 for Study in the United Kingdom Fully Funded

by Ajira

The Chevening Scholarships are now accepting applications for the 2025 programme. This prestigious initiative enables exceptional emerging leaders from across the globe to pursue one year master’s degrees in the UK. Chevening Scholars are distinguished not by a single profile but by their passion, ideas, and influence to foster solutions and leadership for a better future.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for a Chevening Scholarship, you must:

  • Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory.
  • Commit to returning to your home country for at least two years after your scholarship ends.
  • Have a minimum of two years of work experience (equivalent to 2,800 hours).
  • Hold an undergraduate degree that qualifies you for a UK master’s programme.
  • Apply to three different eligible UK university courses and have received an unconditional offer from at least one of these courses by the deadline for references and educational documents.

You are not eligible for a Chevening Scholarship if you:

  • Hold British or dual British citizenship (unless you are a citizen of a British Overseas Territory or hold BN(O) and are applying from Hong Kong).
  • Hold refugee status in a country that is not eligible for Chevening. However, if you are a citizen of an eligible country and hold refugee status in another eligible country, you are eligible to apply.
  • Are an employee, former employee, or relative of an employee of the UK government, British Embassies/High Commissions, the British Council, the Association of Commonwealth Universities, or sponsoring UK universities. Employees, former employees, or relatives of an employee of Chevening Partner organisations are eligible to apply, but if the employment occurred within the last two years, you cannot receive a Chevening Partner Award from the organisation with which you are or were affiliated.
  • Have previously studied in the UK on a UK government-funded scholarship.

Note: Holding a master’s degree does not disqualify you from applying for a second master’s degree in the UK, as long as you can clearly articulate how it aligns with your career goals and will enable you to drive positive change in your home country.
