How to check matric results online 2022/20223: The results for the 2022 Independent Examinations Board (IEB) matric exams have been announced. Despite the difficult circumstances learners had to face, there have been some notable improvements.
Students can follow the steps mentioned below to check their matric results 2022
- Step 1: Visit the official website https://www.education.gov.za/matricresults/examresults.aspx
- Step 2: Navigate to the link provided for the matric results and click on it
- Step 3: Enter the details required such as Exam number
- Step 4: Department of Basic Education Board matric results will be displayed on the screen
- Step 5: Download it and take a print out of the same for future references.
How to get my matric results via SMS
Provide the IEB with your phone number and on the day of the results, you’ll be sent an SMS. To register for this service, send an SMS to 35135, including your ID number and exam number.

The IEB matric class of 2022 has achieved a pass rate of 98.39% in their matric exams, a slight improvement from last year’s 98.06%. This cohort received its matric results at Midnight on Tuesday.
The candidates who have passed have will be able to enter tertiary education at one of the three levels. The IEB class of 2021 consisted of 12 857 full-time participants as well as 968 part-time learners in 238 examination centres across Southern Africa who sat for the IEB exams in October and November 2022.
The number of IEB learners who obtained bachelor passes increased from 88.41% in 2020 to 89.2% in 2021. However, those who obtained Diploma entry-level pass decreased from 8.14% in 2020 to 7 .82% in 2022.
Candidates who would like to apply for remarking have until 28 January 2022 with the remarking results due to be released on 15 March 2022.
