Job Position Occupational Health and Safety Technical Trainer at Barrick North Mara Gold Mine Limited
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
-
- Coordinate & Deliver all site Inductions trainings to all employees ,visitors and all other business partners
- Coordinate and Deliver all OHS regulatory trainings and ensure that are updated as required by a governing regulation.
- To assess driver performance to ultimately ensure drivers have the appropriate knowledge, skills and attitude to conduct their duties legally, safely and competently thereby reducing vehicle accidents by embracing new training and development initiatives.
- To conduct Driving assessment and re assessment to all drivers onsite and provide site driving authorization to competent candidates.
- To ensure that all OHS Training attendances updated within 24 Hours of completing sessions & filed for reference
- To ensure Assessment documents recorded electronically and filed in employee personal files within prescribed time.
- To guarantee the Licensing & Permitting issued within few hours of employees declared competent.
- To ensure that training Certificates prepared & issued within prescribed time of completing the training sessions successfully.
- Ensuring Compliance to the OHS Training & Development related Standard Operating Procedures.
- Participate in Vehicles and Mobile equipment inspection and audit.
- Conduct regular site inspections and updating on all road signage and other engineering controls for the purpose of maintaining OHS Management System standards.
- To ensure that site LV procedure and Traffic Management Plan are updated regularly when there is a process change or per requirement.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Qualification Requirements:
-
- Secondary Education Level
- Certificate 4 or similar Qualification in Workplace Training & Assessment will be an advantage.
- Training the Trainer Cert IV will be an added advantage.
- Driving Instructor of Light Track and Light Vehicle will be an added advantage.
- Tertiary Qualification in Training (NIT)
- National Occupational safety & Health Certificate NOSHC I&II
- Industrial First Aid Certification.
- Light Vehicle Driving License
Experience Requirements:
-
- Experience in dealing with multi-cultural orientations
- At least 5 years industry experience in Surface and Underground Mine on Safety & Training
- Experience on long trip driving for the company/institution.
- Experience in the successful development and implementation of employee training program
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in operating Heavy Mobile Equipment in UG /Surface Mining Production Environment
Skills / Knowledge Requirements:
- Have a sense of spatial organization
- Sound knowledge of Technical Area Operations in Mining/ Processing/ Asset Reliability
- Sound knowledge of relevant UG/Surface Standard Operating Procedures
- Knowledge on Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment
- Qualified to operate all LVs ,Surface and UG equipment
- Sound Knowledge of Workplace Safety & Health
- Relevant Certification & Regulatory Licenses
- Time Management & Planning

- Computer Skills – MS Office
