SCOPE OF WORK – Data Entry Clerk/Data collector
PAYED IV Endline Survey

2. Program Description:
Pan African Youth Entrepreneur Development (PAYED IV) in Tanzania trained over 500 youth micro-business owners, managers, or employees of small and retail “Mom and Pops shops” to improve their entrepreneurship skills and introduced them to mobile savings through innovative, mobile-enabled training and learning platform. Program training focused on business and financial management skills and provided tailored advisory support.
The training and coaching aimed to increase the adoption of these skills and support youth to maintain their pre COVID revenue.
3. Survey Background:
PAYED IV Program is using different M & E tools and methods to track its progress and effectiveness. One of the methods used is through the Endline Survey. This is used to track the % of youth business that maintain pre-Covid-19 jobs & revenues, % of youth improved in the use of business best practices, number of new shops created or expanded, number of business that are remained operational, number of youth who built or preserve financial assets & number of youth who started to use financial products to help improving their financial stability etc.
PAYED IV conducted a Baseline survey at the beginning of the training and now will conduct an Endline survey in the last week of August up to the first week of September.
4. A challenge to address:
As per PAYED M&E plan, it is required to collect data to track amongst others, the business practices they had before PAYED and what they adopted after PAYED intervention. This includes such data as earnings generated, new business, Expanded/improved business, Jobs, and employment created. Besides, we need to know if our beneficiaries keep savings and access to financial products. The data collected before training and after training to track the outcome level information of our intervention.
5. Position description
Data enumerators will be required to assist in mobile data collection for the final survey in Ilala District (Vingunguti & Chanika), Ubungo District (Sinza, Manzese, Msewe, Mabibo, Kibangu & Makuburi), Kinondoni District (Kawe), Temeke District (Mbagala) and Kigamboni District (Vijibweni, and Kibada wards). Additional duties may require data entry into a database following survey.

- Attend virtual training on data collection using pre-set questionnaire
- Collect data on questionnaires with accuracy and thoroughness
- Maintain a professional working relationship with all colleagues
- Qualifications
- Experience in data collection
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Oral and written communication skills that are clear and concise in both English and Swahili
- Keen attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills
