18 Job Vacancies Nafasi za kazi T-MARC Tanzania Dec 2021: T-MARC Tanzania is a non-profit Tanzanian organization working to improve public health and promote social development. Our socially marketed products and behaviour change communication initiatives address pertinent health issues in family planning and reproductive health, child survival, water and sanitation, nutrition and communicable/non-communicable infections like malaria, HIV/AIDS, and cervical cancer.

The USAID/Tanzania Comprehensive Client-Centered Health Program HIV/TB Southern (C3HP HIV&TB Southern Program) is a five year project (November 2021 to September 2026) funded by the American People through USAID aiming at supporting the Government of Tanzania’s (GOT) Ministry of Health Community Development Gender Elderly and Children (MOHCDGEC) and the President’s Office- Regional Administration and Local Government (PORALG) at the central level and in target Mainland regions to deliver high quality integrated HIV and TB prevention care and treatment services that will improve health outcomes, particularly for youth and children.

The C3HP HIV&TB Southern Program intends to increase the demand for and use of quality integrated HIV and Tuberculosis services in Iringa, Lindi, Morogoro, Mtwara, Njombe, and Ruvuma regions by improving access to quality services in both facilities and the surrounding communities, promoting positive health seeking behaviors among Tanzania’s population, and enhancing the overall policy environment for HIV & TB service delivery.

The C3HP HIV&TB Southern Program is managed by Deloitte Consulting Ltd in partnership with Management and Development for Health (MDH) and T-MARC Tanzania.

T-MARC is seeking for competent candidates to join C3HP HIV&TB Southern Program team for various positions as shown below.

JOB TITTLE: Advisor – SBCC (6 posts)

Reports to: SBCC Manager

Duty Station: Iringa, Njombe, Lindi, Ruvuma, Morogoro and Mtwara

Position summary

The advisor for Social and Behaviour Change Communication will contribute to social, and behaviour change programming across multiple C3HP initiatives.

Working closely C3HP project team, Local government and implementing partners the SBCC advisor will provide technical support in the implementation of HIV/TB integration activities to ensure these SBCC elements are incorporated in the implementation of community activities such as IPC and Small group sessions. The advisor will have experience developing tools and approaches in different cultural settings and designing linguistically appropriate interventions.

Specific Roles & Responsibilities

·  Support the development of SBCC approaches, materials and tools relying on innovative and agile methodologies.

·  Support implementation of community activities in collaboration with key government partners, CSOs and other implementation partners.

·  Represent the project in the meetings and workshops at regional and district level in such as coordination meetings, technical meeting, and regional SBCC working groups.

·  Identify and work with implementing partners, NGOs, CBOs, communities, etc. to produce or adapt related job aids or promotional materials related to HIV/AIDS and TB programming.

·  Contribute to documenting experiences, preparing reports, presentations, briefs and articles for publication.

·  Work collaboratively with other project team members to ensure necessary program planning, development, resource availability and management activities function smoothly and efficiently.

·  Contribute to timely and appropriate reporting.

Position Summary

 She/he is responsible for strategically contributing to the SBCC component of the project and linking all regional SBCC activities towards achievement of project objectives and with national strategies.

The incumbent will report to Manager SBCC at Head office. She/he is responsible for the overall supervision and directing the technical component of the project ensuring SBCC activities at regional level to ensure the project achieves expected results.

Specific Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Focal person for the execution and monitoring of SBCC plans at regional level ensuring the project’s activities use a systematic planning process that is evidence-based and reinforced through a coordinated, shared vision among partners, key stakeholders, and the Government of Tanzania.
  2. Participate and contribute on the development and preparation of annual workplans and budgets for the SBCC components of the project.
  3. Ensure the quality of implemented technical activities and systems at all levels
  4. Support preparation and quality of required donor reports, quarterly and annual project reports, activity reports, research reports and other related documentation
  5. Mobilize social and political support at all levels to create and sustain an enabling environment for the delivery of targeted interventions including SBCC communications campaigns.
  6. Work collaboratively with project implementing partners to provide strategic input into the development of SBCC strategies for targeted, focused, and culturally and contextually well-tailored SBCC initiatives for specific areas of HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis (TB).
  7. Conduct capacity building activities to increase the effectiveness of implementing partners and CSOs to implement demand creation programming for HIV/AIDS and TB.
  8. Support advocacy, communication, and social mobilization at  district, and  community level and create strong linkages between community and service delivery activities.
  9. Work collaboratively with  partners  and LGAs as a member of the C3HP to provide regionalize  SBCC communication material (activities/campaigns) ensuring that they are culturally and contextually sound for specific health areas including malaria, HIV/AIDS andTB interventions.
  10. Support and coordinate efforts to strengthen the capacity of community-level partners to effectively apply strategic communication and community mobilization strategies to increase demand for and use for health services, supporting integration and interlinking of messages, referrals and actions at the community level.
  11. Ensure that stakeholders at community levels are enabled to meaningfully participate in the communications process, including local and contextual formative research,targeting, mapping, and monitoring and oversight of initiatives.
  12. Work with partners to monitor and evaluate the progress and impact of community SBCC, IPC, and mobilization activities.
  13. Ensures the timely and quality completion of technical deliverables and reports in accordance with guidelines.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in public health, Health communications, Sociology
  • At least 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating SBCC interventions.
  •  Experience and ability to design of community based SBCC Interventions.
