The South African Social Security Agency Sassa has released the payment schedule for April 2024. These payment dates do not include the Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant.
SRD grant payments do not have fixed payment dates, which means that beneficiaries will need to wait to receive communication that their payment is ready before visiting paypoints, such as retail stores or ATMs, before collecting their grant.

How much Sassa grant payments will be paid for March 2024
- Older Persons grant – R2,080
- Older Persons (75 years and older) – R2,100

After people who get Sassa grants do not have to pick up their grants on the day they are due. The grant money will stay in the account of the person who got it until that person decides to use it.
Different ways of paying can be used to get grants. You can get grants at ATMs or stores like Shoprite, Checkers, U-save, Pick ‘n Pay, and Boxer.
Beneficiaries can receive the money through a bank account, your SASSA card, CashSend, or the Post Office.
