TVET College student or you’re about to be and you’re looking for a way to pay for your studies, you might need some help submitting your NSFAS Online application.
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is a public entity reporting to the Department of Higher Education and Training. NSFAS provides financial assistance in the form of a study bursary to qualifying students who wish to study or are already studying at TVET colleges and public universities.
HOW TO APPLY NSFAS FOR TVET COLLEGE
Follow the following steps to Appy
You can apply online using a cellphone, tablet or computer. Follow these simple steps to apply:
Step 1: Go to www.nsfas.org.za and click on the ‘myNSFAS’ tab
Step 2: Create a myNSFAS account
Step 3: Click on the ‘APPLY’ tab and answer the questions on the screen
Step 4: Upload the required supporting documents then click on ‘submit’
After you click on ‘submit’, your application reference number will appear on the screen. The reference number will also be sent to the cellphone number and email address you provided.
Student funding applicants will also be required to provide the following supporting documents when submitting their applications:
- Copy of South African birth certificate/copy of ID document/Temporary ID of student
- Copy of South African birth certificate/copy of ID document/Temporary ID of parent(s)/guardian/spouse
- Proof of income (where applicable) – student/parent(s)/guardian or spouse (not older than 3 months.
- SASSA recipients no proof of income required.
- A student recognised as a vulnerable child (e.g. Orphan) must submit a completed Vulnerable Child Declaration Form completed by the Social worker
- Students with disabilities must complete and submit the Disability Annexure A form.
The National Student Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) will then collect the completed application form along with the supporting documents after the application closing deadline.
Students are reminded, however, that if they applied for NSFAS during the walk-in application period, they will not be required to fill out the NSFAS system access form.
They will merely need to send an email to servicedesk@nsfas.org.za for their account to be re-activated.
