Job Position  Business Data Analyst at Unilever Mufindi, Iringa, Tanzania

Main Purpose

  • Responsible for consolidation of the critical Business Performance Indicators covering Production of Made Tea, People movement/resource allocation, Green Leaf production (HIPISI) Vs forecast and Targets and Quality short term and long-term trends covering Unilever Tea Tanzania’s 4 factories and 8 estates. This is data shared with Key Management and business stakeholders on a daily, weekly, Monthly and Annual basis while managing and maintaining a master data archive to critical business decisions.
  • Lead Super User for ERP for Agric and Manufacturing module to facilitate post go live support and training of new entrants.

Main Accountabilities

  • The role covers critical data update and record keeping to help drive business decisions using the historic trends captured through daily, weekly, monthly and annual trends tracked live. This is a single responsible role.
  • The position will have an active role in supporting data cleansing efforts from other systems within UTT and Sage X3.
  • Providing operational leadership and authority with respect to data Focus on process excellence and data quality
  • Develop and implement the use of global standard automated workflows to regulate the change, creation, extension and extinction process so that only approved and accurate data is uploaded, approved and maintained by the appropriate business owners;
  • Identify and assign the appropriate business owner of each data field and specify the frequency at which each data field should be reviewed;

Daily

  • Consolidation and analysis of the production data
  • Collate the raw data on production and productivity and analyse the same on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual frequencies
  • Crop forecasting -Daily supply and production planning and comparing forecasts against actuals vis -vis bias and targets
  • Maintain data for key business critical KPI’s and keep charts live.
  • ERP Super User for master for Agriculture and Manufacturing – Trainer of end users on agriculture and manufacturing modules and post go live support lead.

Weekly

  • Consolidate and analyse plucking intervals (PI) and harvesting intervals (HI) charts for the stakeholders’ decision making ON Quality of Green Leaf intake.
  • Crop forecasting – Communicating the Weekly performance crop forecasting and supply and production planning Vs Forecast and Targets
  • Circulate the Key KPI deck for performance tracking.
  • Prepare Presentations for Weekly LT meetings

Monthly

  • Crop forecasting – Communicating the monthly performance crop forecasting and supply and production planning Vs Forecast and Targets
  • Report plucking intervals (PI) and harvesting intervals (HI) charts for the stakeholders’ decision making ON Quality of Green Leaf intake.
  • Circulate the Key KPI deck for performance tracking.
  • Keep KPIs for benchmarking externally updated regularly for management if required to share with other industry players.
  • Prepare Presentations for LT meetings

Annual

  • Crop forecasting – Communicating the annual performance crop forecasting and supply and production planning Vs Forecast and Targets
  • Report plucking intervals (PI) and harvesting intervals (HI) charts for the stakeholders’ decision making ON Quality of Green Leaf intake.
  • Circulate the Key KPI deck for performance tracking.
  • Prepare Presentations for LT meetings

Key Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management
  • Computer literacy
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to interpret data
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team Ability to clearly and accurately define problems by collecting data and facts and the ability to develop solutions to those problems
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, ability to multitask and problem-solving skills

Relevant Experience

  • 5 + years’ experience in data analysis translating to KPIs
  • Experience in payroll, field and production clerical processes
  • Experience in working with excel and other data analysis models
  • SageX3 Modules; Agriculture, Manufacturing

  • CGM, GM’s OM’s and Unit members of management, HR, Chief clerks, Payroll clerks, Supply planning, Quality Assurance, Safety, Health & Environment and Financial accountants
  • UTK and UTR for statistics support.

External:

  • TAT

  • Tea Brokers East Africa
  • EATTA
