IUCN Tanzania is seeking a high calibre Driver/Logistic Assistant to support the Tanzania Programme Office.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Office Administrator, the Driver/Logistic Assistant will provide logistic support and provide reliable and safe driving services to the Tanzania office.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
The specific duties of the Driver will include:
Driving and vehicle maintenance;
Ensure that the assigned vehicle is clean and road worthy;Check vehicle condition/requirement and fill the Log Book properly;
Ensure proper maintenance and serving of the assigning vehicle is taken place on day-to-day and report on supervisors on time;
Meet official personnel at the airport and make the arrangements for the accommodation services;
Drive office vehicle for transportation of authorized personnel and delivery/collection of consignment, pouch and other items;
Make field trips in/or out out-side Dar es salaam;
Prepare monthly mileage summary with oil consumption and report to supervisor;
Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, perform minor repairs and arrange for other related repairs;
Ensure that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accident;
Carry out other relevant tasks assigned by, and mutually agreed with, the line manager.
Logistical support;
Assists with purchasing office supplies, stationery and equipment and arranges for repair of office equipment to ensure that the office is in good order within the petty cash limits and according to IUCN policies and procedures.
Coordinates with suppliers for the procurement of office supplies and equipment.
Other;
Perform other similar duties as may be requested by the Supervisor and/or Project Managers
REQUIREMENTS
Education;
Holder of form IV certificate with driving certificate from recognized institution VETA or NIT.
Mechanical certificate is required
Clean and Valid Driving license.
• Work Experience;
Over 5 years of driving experience of four-wheel drive vehicles
Current driving license with an excellent driving record of at least 7 years showing no history of responsibility for accidents
Experience driving for a diplomatic mission or small to medium-sized NGO
Basic vehicle maintenance skills
Have a good knowledge of Tanzania roads and various Districts where IUCN has a presence and be ready to travel to these districts
Able to drive for long periods of time
Good awareness of the existing traffic rules and regulations
Ability to follow a pre-set schedule and create a plan to reach the required destination on time
Good interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to work well with people from varied backgrounds and cultures at all levels in organization
Ability to work as part of a team and is flexible and adaptable.
Ability to work under pressure
Understands and performs safe driving techniques
Good oral communication skills
• Language Requirements;
Good knowledge of English and Swahili is desired
