Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – December 2, 2024 – The Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) has announced the completion of the appeals analysis and loan allocation process for students who filed appeals. A total of 11,256 students have successfully appealed and have been awarded loans worth TZS 36.4 billion.

HESLB Executive Director, Dr. Bill Kiwia, revealed in a statement released today that 4,183 first-year students have secured loans through appeals, totaling TZS 13.87 billion. Additionally, 7,073 students in their second year and beyond have also been granted loans via the appeal process, amounting to TZS 22.5 billion.
To date, a cumulative total of 79,573 first-year students have been allocated loans worth TZS 250.9 billion.
“The release of the loan information for students who appealed marks the conclusion of the loan allocation process for the 2024/2025 academic year. Applicants who were unsuccessful in obtaining loans are advised to apply in the next loan window when it opens,” concluded Dr. Kiwia.
