The Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) has today announced the fourth batch of students awarded loans for the 2024/2025 academic year. A total of 9,068 undergraduate and diploma students have been allocated loans worth TZS 27.52 billion.

Breakdown of Beneficiaries:
- New First-Year Undergraduates: 4,400 first-year students enrolled in various higher learning institutions across the country for undergraduate programs have been awarded loans worth TZS 13.74 billion.
- Continuing Undergraduates: 2,646 continuing undergraduate students have been awarded first-time loans worth TZS 8.37 billion.
- Diploma Students: 2,022 new first-year diploma students have been awarded loans worth TZS 5.41 billion. These students are enrolled in priority programs at various technical colleges.
Samia Scholarship:
A total of TZS 3.14 billion has been disbursed to 625 students under the Samia Scholarship for the 2024/2025 academic year. This scholarship is targeted at first-year undergraduate students pursuing studies in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine.
Appeal Window Open:
Students who applied for loans but are dissatisfied with their initial allocations or have not been awarded loans are advised to lodge an appeal within seven days, starting from Monday, November 4th, to Sunday, November 10th, 2024
