The Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) today (Sunday, October 20, 2024) has announced the Third Batch comprising 19,345 undergraduate students who have been allocated loans amounting to TZS 59.49 billion for the 2024/2025 academic year. These 19,345 students are first-year students joining various higher education institutions in the country for bachelor’s degree studies. Following the announcement of the Third Batch, the total number of new undergraduate students allocated loans has reached 70,990, with the value of their loans amounting to TZS 223.3 billion. Male students constitute 40,164 (56.58%), and female students total 30,825 (43.42%).
Loans for Diploma Students
Additionally, this batch includes 425 new diploma students (378 first-year students and 47 continuing students) who have been allocated loans amounting to TZS 1.1 billion.
‘Samia Scholarship’ Grant
So far, a total of TZS 3.02 billion has been disbursed as grants to 599 students (588 in the first batch and 11 in the second batch) in their first year benefiting from the ‘Samia Scholarship’ for the 2024/2025 academic year.
