MSc & PhD in Renewable Energy Scholarship 2021/2022: NORHED II ENERGY TECHNOLOGY NETWORK PROJECT (EnergyNET) NORHED II UDSM-NTNU EnergyNET project focuses on field testing and practical implementation of renewable energy technology systems. EnergyNET project follows series of previous collaborative research work in renewable energy field conducted by the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Other regional partner institutions including Makerere University (Uganda), Mekelle University (Ethiopia) and Eduardo Mondlane University (Mozambique). As NORHED II funded project, EnergyNET aims at strengthening capacity of partner institutions towards higher-quality graduates, higher-quality research, and more inclusive higher education.
PhD SCHOLARSHIP (ONE POSITION)
Research topic: Optimization of Solar Continuous Adsorption Refrigeration
Duration: Three (3) years, effective from November 2021.
Study program: PhD in Renewable Energy by Thesis, registered at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM)
Sandwich/exchange: Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU)
Costs covered: Tuition fee, research costs, stipend at UDSM and NTNU, stationery costs
Eligibility of candidates;
a) Must be a Tanzanian citizen.
b) Must have valid admission to Fulltime, PhD in Renewable Energy by Thesis at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, College of Engineering and Technology (CoET), UDSM. Online application for admission should be done at http://postgraduate.udsm.ac.tz/.
c) Must be holders of MSc. in Renewable Energy / Energy Engineering, or other related engineering or applied sciences disciplines.
d) GPA of at least 4.0 in relevant MSc. Programme and least 3.5 in relevant BSc. programme.
e) Priority shall be given to employees of the University of Dar es Salaam or other public academic/research institutions.
f) Female candidates are encouraged to apply.

MSc SCHOLARSHIPS (TWO POSITIONS)
Duration: Eighteen (18) months, effective from November 2021.
Study program: Coursework and Dissertation, registered at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM)
Sandwich/exchange: Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU)
Costs covered: Tuition fee, research costs, stipend at NTNU only and stationery costs (candidates should cover their living and costs while studying at UDSM)
Eligibility of applicants

c) Must be holders of BSc. in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Energy Engineering, Chemical & Process Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related engineering and applied sciences disciplines.
d) GPA of at least 3.5 in relevant BSc. programme.
